§ 50. Mr. EVERARDasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if some consideration can be given to those who, on the security of the British Government's guarantee, subscribed to the French war loans in 1917–18 and who, in view of the depreciation of the French currency, have lost the greater part of their capital?
§ Mr. McNEILLI do not know what sort of consideration my hon. Friend has in mind. His Majesty's Government did not guarantee the French war loans, nor are they in any way responsible for the depreciation of the French currency.
