§ 4. Viscount SANDONasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has information as to the terms of the Afghan-Soviet Treaty; whether British-Indian interests are preserved; and whether the treaty has been registered with the League of Nations?
§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAINI have received a translation of the Treaty signed on the 31st August from the British Minister at Kabul, to whom the Afghan Foreign Minister communicated the Persian text. I see no reason to suppose that the Treaty will have any prejudicial effect on British-Indian interests. So far as I know, it has not been registered with the League of Nations, and since neither party to it is a member of the League, it does not seem likely that it will be registered.
