HC Deb 10 May 1926 vol 195 c686
Mr. ERSKINE

(by Private Notice) asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has considered the question of the legality of the general strike, at the instance of the executive of the Trade Union Council, and, if so, can he inform the House of the conclusions arrived at, and what steps, if any, he proposes to take in the matter?

Major Sir HARRY BARNSTON (Comptroller of the Household)

I have been asked to reply. This question is being considered. My right hon. Friend is not at the moment prepared to make any statement.

Mr. ERSKINE

When may we have an answer to the question?

Sir H. BARNSTON

I can hardly say.
