Major Sir BERTRAM FALLEasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, in view of the fact that Vote II, Sub-head C, of the Naval Estimate provides a victualling allowance at the rate of 1s. 5½d. a day for each rating not victualled on the standard ration and messing allowance scale, he will state how the profits arising from this victualling allowance for ratings who are compulsorily messed under the general messing system are disposed of?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANThe victualling allowances to which the hon. Member refers does not apply to general messing. Under this system of messing there is no money allowance; the Admiralty provide a suitable standard of messing.
