Lieut.-Colonel FREDERICK HALLasked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether Russia has made proposals to any of the Dominion Governments to enter into direct trading agreements with the Soviet Republics; if so, whether any such agreements have been concluded and, if so, with which of the Dominions; and whether the Imperial Government have been consulted in regard to any such negotiations?
§ Mr. AMERYBy an exchange of Notes in 1922, it was arranged that the provisions of the Anglo-Soviet Trade 9 Agreement of 1921 should apply to Canada. I have seen recent statements in the Press as to the possibility of extending trade relations between other Dominions and the Soviet Union, but have no other information on the subject.
