HC Deb 03 May 1926 vol 195 c34
Mr. RAMSAY MacDONALD

May I ask the Prime Minister whether he proposes in any way to re-arrange the business of the House?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Baldwin)

Yes, Sir. After the Address replying to His Majesty's Message has been agreed to, I shall move the Adjournment of the House, to enable me to make a statement on the present situation, and I imagine that there will be a discussion on that for the rest of the day. It is essential by law that the Budget Resolutions be reported by Monday next, and, therefore, I am afraid it will be necessary to put down a Motion to take the remaining private Members' time up to Whitsuntide.
