HC Deb 29 March 1926 vol 193 c1633
20. Sir R. HAMILTON

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether there has been any change in the policy of the Government with regard to indentured labour as declared by him in the House on 26th April, 1920?

Mr. AMERY

There has been no change in the policy of the Government since 1920, but if, as I assume, the question of the hon. and learned Member relates to the suggestion that labour for Kenya should be obtained from Portuguese East Africa, I should prefer to wait until I am in possession of the terms of employment proposed before expressing any opinion as to whether they constitute a departure from that policy.
