HC Deb 29 March 1926 vol 193 c1624
8. Mr. THURTLE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India the specific reason why Mr. S. C. Bose, late chief executive officer of Calcutta Corporation, cannot be brought to public trial?

Earl WINTERTON

The reason in this case, as in all the other cases, is that owing to the terrorist activities of the conspirators it is impossible to bring witnesses to Court without danger to their lives.

Mr. THURTLE

May I take it that even in this particular case the terrorism of witnesses is feared?

Earl WINTERTON

That is exactly what I have said in answer to the question.
