§ 56. Mr. NOEL BUXTONasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether His Majesty's Government is willing to take part in a loan to Bulgaria, organised by the League of Nations on lines similar to the loan to Greece, and for a similar purpose, namely, the solution of the refugee problem?
§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAINI cannot undertake to say in advance what would be the attitude of His Majesty's Government in the event of the League's under taking to organise such a loan.
§ Mr. BUXTONIn connection with that, is the system working well in Greece, and is it not the best model to follow?
§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAINIt is now working well, but it has not worked without difficulty, and, though I recognise the importance, for peace in these districts, of the settlement of these refugees, I should be unwilling to make any statement in general terms about a loan brought out under the auspices of the League.
