HC Deb 29 March 1926 vol 193 cc1623-4
5. Brigadier-General WARNER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India the number of King's commissions in the Indian Army that have been granted to native gentlemen since 1st July, 1922; and the castes to which they belong?

Earl WINTERTON

The number is 34. As regards the second part, I have no exact details, but the approximate figures are 19 members of the group comprising, among others, Sikhs, Rajputs and Jats, 12 Mohammedans, two Bengalis, and one Burman.
