HC Deb 25 March 1926 vol 193 c1352
13. Commander COCHRANE

asked the Home Secretary whether he has any statement to make in regard to the deputations he recently saw relating to the hours of licensed sale of intoxicating liquor in clubs?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

As I promised, I have placed this matter fully before my colleagues in His Majesty's Government., and we have decided to await the Report of Lord Southborough's Committee, which is now sitting on a branch of the licensing law, namely, disinterested management, and if it be necessary after consideration of such Report, the Government will direct a full inquiry into the whole of the questions raised before me by the various deputations.
