asked the Secretary for Mines the number of miners in Great Britain who were idle on 31st July, 1925. and 1st March, 1926, respectively; and the number of miners in Durham County idle on the same dates

I have been asked to reply. At 22nd February, 1926, the number of persons classified as belonging to the coal-mining industry recorded as unemployed at Employment Exchanges in Great Britain was 18,736, as compared with 184,333 at 22nd July, 1925. The corresponding figures fur the County of Durham are 30,245 and 41,821.
