HC Deb 23 March 1926 vol 193 cc1010-1
18. Mr. ERSKINE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that six officers of the 1st King's Dragoon Guards, at Wiesbaden, are living in a single roofed hut as their permanent quarters, and that, owing to its construction, the heat in summer would make it intolerable for human habitation; and will he take steps to ensure that these officers are properly accommodated?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

I presume my hon. Friend refers to a wooden hut near the mess of the 1st King's Dragoon Guards at Wiesbaden which is being reconditioned for use as quarters for seven single officers. As this hut has a wooden felt-covered roof supplemented by a wooden ceiling with a wide air space between, I am advised that there is no reason to suppose that it will not he suitable for occupation both in summer and winter.
