asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many motor omnibuses were licensed this year on or before 1st March; what were the respective numbers belonging to the omnibus combine and private owners; and will he indicate how many were owned separately by each of the latter?

The reply contains a number of figures, and with my hon. and gallant Friend's permission, I will circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following is the answer:

Of the 5,190 motor omnibuses licensed in the Metropolitan Police Ditsrict on 31st March last, 4,628 belong to the London General Omnibus Company and associated companies and 662 to other proprietors. Of the latter proprietors—

102 own 1 omnibus.
45 own 2 omnibuses.
11 own 3 omnibuses.
4 own 4 omnibuses.
9 own 5 omnibuses.
7 own 6 omnibuses.
4 own 7 omnibuses.
2 own 8 omnibuses.
2 own 9 omnibuses.
5 own from 10 to 20 omnibuses.
2 own from 21 to 30 omnibuses.
1 own from 31 to 40 omnibuses.
