HC Deb 18 March 1926 vol 193 c580
31. Miss WILKINSON

asked the President of the Board of Education on what date he received the programme of urgent capital expenditure submitted by the Surrey Education Authority; whether he has sent any reply to the programme: and what reply he has made to the request of the authority that he should receive a deputation?

Lord E. PERCY

The authority's revised estimates and accompanying statement were received in my Department on February 1st and have been the subject of discussion between officers of my Department and the authority, but I have not yet communicated my decision to the authority. I understand that the proposed deputation has been Postponed for the present.

Miss WILKINSON

Dees not the right hon. Gentleman think that these long delays are the inevitable result of the policy of treating each application on its merits
