§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Godfrey Locker-Lampson)It was indicated to the German delegation at Locarno that Germany, as a member of the League of Nations, would be a possible candidate for Colonial mandates like all other members; that is a question of fact. It is incorrect, however, to suggest that any promise or undertaking was given to the 602 German Government. The second part of this question therefore does not arise.
