59. Sir F. HALLasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state what are the amounts of the war debts owed to this country by France, Italy, and Belgium, respectively, and how far they have been liquidated; if he will state what are the amounts owed by the same countries, and by Great Britain to the United States of America, and how much has been paid off in each case; and whether, in view of the results to this country of the one-sided arrangements that have been made with regard to the 593 repayment of war debts, the Government will take steps with a view to the whole position being examined afresh by the Allies, together with America, with the object of coming to an all-round settlement?
