HC Deb 16 March 1926 vol 193 c251
75. Colonel WOODCOCK

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that 532 telephone subscribers of Blackpool were cut off from the exchange owing to a corporation official cutting the cable of 1,600 telephone wires; will he state what will be the cost of repairing this whether the corporation is responsible; and can steps be taken in future to obviate the inconvenience to subscribers?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

The cost of repairs is approximately £50 and will be the subject of a claim against the corporation. Every effort is made to repair the damage in cases of this kind with the least possible delay and in the present instance all the circuits were restored within 48 hours. It is not possible to devise procedure which would altogether obviate accidents of this type.
