§ 17. Mr. SNELL (for Mr. BAKER)asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the local Government in Kenya has issued permission to the D.W.A. Plantations Company and the B.E.A. Fibre and Industrial Company, both companies being registered in London, to recruit native labour from Portuguese East Africa; and whether he will state what steps he is taking to safeguard the rights of such labour?
§ Mr. AMERYThis matter was raised in the question of the hon. and learned Member for Orkney on the 22nd February. I have drawn the attention of the Governor of Kenya to it.
