BAKER)asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he make comparisons between our regulations governing native conditions with the new regulations which have been issued to regulate the conditions of labour of the large number of native workers employed in French West Africa; and whether he will consider the adoption of any proposal which might prove to be an improvement upon the practice in our Protectorates?
§ Mr. AMERYI have received repre-regard to the new French West African regulations referred to by the hon. Member. I shall always be prepared to consider, in consultation with the Colonial Governments, proposals for the improvement of labour conditions in the Colonies.
