Mr. HARRISasked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that, in response to Circular 1371 and Memorandum 44, local education authorities are revising their staffing arrangements for 1926–27, and that already there is evidence of a diminished demand for teachers who will be leaving the training colleges during June and July of this year; and whether he will issue to the training colleges a communication which may reassure the students now experiencing anxiety as to their future?
§ Lord E. PERCYI am aware that local authorities are reviewing the staffing of their schools, but I do not think that the students now in training colleges need feel much anxiety as to their chances of employment.
