§ Mr. BETTERTONIt is a condition for a grant in respect of approved relief work schemes that not less than 75 per cent. of the unemployed men taken on for the work shall be ex-service men. 2285 This condition is very seldom relaxed, and only when a sufficient number of unemployed ex-service men is not available or the proportion of non-ex-service men unemployed to the ex-service men is exceptionally high.
