HC Deb 08 March 1926 vol 192 cc1913-4
71. H. BRITTAIN

asked the right, hon. Member for Cheltenham, as Chairman of the Kitchen Committee, whether British Empire wines and British-made cigars are obtainable in the various refreshment rooms of the House; and, if so, whether the sale of each commodity is increasing or otherwise?

Sir JAMES AGG-GARDNER

British Empire wines, cigars, and tobacco are obtainable in the refreshment rooms of the House. The sale of Empire wines, cigars and tobacco I am glad to say, all show an increase, more especially that of British tobacco.

Mr. HARRIS

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider limiting the sales in this House entirely to British wines and British cigars?

Sir J. AGG-GARDNER

I do not think the suggestion would be very popular.
