HC Deb 02 March 1926 vol 192 c1245
90. Mr. BRIANT

asked the Minister of Health what is the result of the negotiations between the trade unions concerned with the building industry as to the number of apprentices to be admitted; and what are the actual regulations agreed on behalf of the trade unions?

Sir K. WOOD

The building trade unions have agreed that the restriction in regard to the number of apprentices employed by any one builder may be removed, and that in the case of contracts for working-class cottages let by local authorities, the number of apprentices may be in the ratio of one apprentice for every three craftsmen employed on or in connection with such work.
