§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAINHis Majesty's Consul-General advised Captain Canning in his own interest to leave Tangier in order to avoid proceedings under the Statute for his expulsion. It was impossible to reconcile his activities and the character of his relations with Abdel Krim with the international status of Tangier.
