§ Mr. AMERYI am not in a position to give the figures for the Unfederated Malay States, but estate schools in the Straits Settlements in 1924 numbered 52 out of a total of 598 schools, and in the Federated Malay States 303 out of a total of 997. The second part of the question does not therefore arise.
