§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLANDThe estimates of the number of insured persons in each industry at the beginning of July will be based on the statistics obtained in connection with the exchange of unemployment books which is now proceeding. It is expected that the process of exchange will be sufficiently advanced to enable estimates to be computed by the middle of November. I regret that it will not be possible to give earlier figures in respect of such safeguarded industries as are separately classified.
