Mr. CHAMBERLAINStatistics are not available showing the total number of houses of alternative methods of construction which were completed during the periods in question. Estimates based on returns obtained from local authorities in connection with the State-assisted schemes under the Housing Acts of 1923 and 1924 show that some 15,630 houses have been completed under these Acts by special methods of construction of which some 12,140 were completed during he 12 months ended 1st July last. I egret that similar figures for the previous 12 months are not available.
