Colonel GRANT MORDEN

(by Private Notice) asked the Secretary of State for for Foreign Affairs if any negotiations are being undertaken by His Majesty's Government with the United States Government with reference to imports of liquor into the United States, and if he will give an undertaking to the House that no further Treaty involving the searching of ships outside territorial waters and ports in the British Empire will be conceded without consultation with this House?

I have not heard anything about this question. It has not reached me.

Colonel MORDEN

Surely the hon. Member must be aware that a very im- portant Commission of the United States is in this country headed by—[HON. MEMBERS: "Question!"] Must I read the question again?

The Minister says that the question has not reached him.

I handed it in before 11 o'clock this morning.
