Mr. RAMSDENasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has received representations from Trinidad regarding the surtax of 30 per cent. imposed by the Venezuelan Government upon all goods imported into that Republic from the British West Indies; and, if so, whether he is prepared to take any steps with a view to its removal?
§ Mr. AMERYI have not received any recent representations from Trinidad, but the matter has frequently engaged the attention of His Majesty's Government I am, however, not in a position to make any statement' in regard to it.
