asked the President of the Board of Education if the Depart mental Committee appointed in 1924 to consider the work of public libraries has completed its work; and, if so, whether it has made any Report?

I have nothing at present to add to the reply which I gave the hon. Member on 17th December last.

Has the Noble Lord any idea of when we may expect this Report?

Lord E. PERCY

No, I have no idea. I have no wish to hasten this Committee, which has got a very difficult and important task to consider, and I have not the power.
