§ 61. Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCEasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the passport system in Iraq is the cause of considerable complaint as passports can only be obtained in certain large towns to which applicants must come personally at great expense and loss of time; and whether he will promise any relief in the early future?
§ Mr. AMERYI am not aware that considerable complaint has been caused. If the hon. Member will bring any particular cases to my notice, I shall be glad to look into them.
§ Mr. THURTLEIs this question in order? Is not Iraq a sovereign State?
§ Mr. SPEAKERI do not know if the issue of passports is a local matter or not, but I think the question is a proper one.
