HC Deb 18 February 1926 vol 191 c2106
36. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the. Home Secretary whether he has received any further representations on the subject of undesirable stage plays; and whether any action is contemplated?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I have received no further representations on the subject of undesirable stage plays since the receipt of the memorial from the London Public Morality Council. As I informed the hon. and gallant Member on the 11th February, I will send him a copy of my reply to the London Public Morality Council in due course.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

May I have a reply to the last part of my question as to whether any action has been taken?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I hope to send my reply to the Council to the hon. and gallant Member in a very few days, and if the hon. and gallant Member is not satisfied he can put down a question next week.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Has any action been taken?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

No, Sir. If the hon. and gallant Member means has any action been taken in regard to any particular play, the answer is in the negative.
