HC Deb 18 February 1926 vol 191 cc2117-8
50. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the Prime Minister what action is being taken by the Government regarding the first Report of the Royal Commission on Mining Subsidence; and whether a commission is being set up to investigate the drainage of the Doncaster area and of the isle of Axholme?

The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Guinness)

I have been asked to reply. I am now considering the question of setting up a special commission for the Doncaster area on the broad lines recommended by the Royal Commission on Mining Subsidence. I realise the urgency of the problem, and no time will be lost in dealing with the matter.
