HC Deb 18 February 1926 vol 191 c2096
17. Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Home Secretary whether a conference has yet been called of representatives from the countries affected within the British Empire to decide upon the presentation of a united policy on anthrax at the forthcoming International Labour Conference; and, if not, whether he will take steps in that direction?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

No such conference has been called, and as anthrax is not included in the agenda for the next International Labour Conference, the question cannot come up for discussion then.

Mr. DAVIES

Is the right Gentleman not aware that the introduction of this subject at the Geneva Labour Conference depends almost entirely on a united policy for the British Empire? Will he take steps to secure that united policy?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The hon. Member knows that he and I discussed this matter in the House last year, when I explained it was not possible to secure a united decision for the Empire.
