HC Deb 11 February 1926 vol 191 cc1221-2
49. Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the importance of the issues which will be involved if the Public Health (Preservatives; etc., in Food) Regulations, which were issued on 4th August, 1925, are put into operation, he will give time for a discussion of them in this House at an early date?

The PRIME MINISTER

If there is a general desire for such discussion, it could no doubt be raised on the Vote for the Minister of Health's salary then the Estimates are before the House.

Mr. A. V. ALEXANDER

is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the Minister promised definitely some months ago that there should be a discussion, and the operation of the Regulations was delayed for twelve months for the purpose? In view of the possibility of an increase in the price of food in this direction. We ought to have an early discussion.

The PRIME MINISTER

I will arrange for a discussion on that date.
