asked the Prime Minister whether the Economy Committee of the Cabinet has investigated the relative merits from the point of view of economy of public affairs being conducted by a few large ministries, as against a great number of small ministries?

The PRIME MINISTER

My hon. Friend will not expect me to give information as to the detailed proceedings of a Cabinet Committee. The results of the Committee's investigations, as far as they are approved by the Government, will be communicated to Parliament in due course.
