HC Deb 08 February 1926 vol 191 c640
86. Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that the Board has returned to the local education authority for Tottenham the plans for a new school for 120 physically defective children on the Philip Lane site, on the ground that they could not be considered at present; and how long the prohibition is to continue?

Lord E. PERCY

The plans were returned in order to afford the local authority an opportunity of considering their proposal in the light of the considerations set out in Administrative Memorandum 44. The proposal appears, to be one which could properly be included in the programme which I have asked the authority to prepare, but if they take the view that there are sufficient reasons for not postponing the scheme for the present, it is open to them to indicate their view in submitting their revised estimates for the year 1926–27.
