HC Deb 04 February 1926 vol 191 c303
70. Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

asked the Minister of Health what has been the reason for the delay in granting a widow's pension to Mrs. M. J. Shuter, of 1, Denmark Street, Leicester, who has four dependent children, whose husband died four years ago, having been an insured person under the National Health Insurance Acts, and who made application several months ago for a widow's pension under the new Act; whether the pension has now been granted to her; and whether it dates back to 4th January?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The delay in deciding this case was due to difficulty in establishing the insurance position of the husband. A pension has, however, now been awarded and payment will be made as from 4th January.
