HC Deb 04 February 1926 vol 191 cc323-4
Mr. CLYNES

Might I ask the Prime Minister to make a statement of business for next week?

The PRIME MINISTER

On Monday there will be the continuation and conclusion of the Debate on the Address. We are, I understand, to discuss an Amendment relating to Education moved by the Liberal party. [HON. MEMBERS: "Which?"]

Tuesday: Until 8.15 we shall consider Supplementary Estimates in Committee, beginning with Class I (Building Votes) and Class II Votes; and, if time permit, other Votes on the Paper.

Wednesday, until a Quarter-past Eight, and Thursday, we shall go on with Supplementary Estimates. I hope that the Supplementary Estimates will be in the Vote Office this evening.

Mr. CLYNES

Will the Prime Minister say whether we shall have an opportunity of discussing the subject of debts referred to by him in his speech on Tuesday?

The PRIME MINISTER

I certainly could not answer that now. When I made that observation, I was under the impression that the debts were going to be raised as a specific subject of debate on Monday. I find that is not so.

Captain GARRO-JONES

Is it not a fact that the question of debts was repeatedly raised yesterday, but that neither the Chancellor of the Exchequer nor the Financial Secretary to the Treasury was in his place?
