HC Deb 08 December 1926 vol 200 cc2078-9
6. Captain GARRO-JONES

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will enumerate the treaties, pacts, and agreements made between European nations since 1919 and deposited at Geneva in accordance with the Covenant of the League of Nations?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

The list is very long, and I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the League of Nations Treaty series, of which he will find a copy in the Library of the House, which contains the information he wants.

7. Captain GARRO-JONES

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will specify the agreements, treaties, and pacts concluded between European nations since 1919 which have not been deposited at Geneva in accordance with the Covenant of the League of Nations?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

I hope and believe that every member of the League has fulfilled, or intends to fulfil, the obligation imposed by Article 18 of the Covenant. This obligation does not, of course, bind the Soviet Union, which is not a member of the League.

Mr. GARRO-JONES

Can the hon. Gentleman say whether the treaty between France and Turkey has yet been deposited at Geneva?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

I should like to have notice of that question.
