HC Deb 02 December 1926 vol 200 cc1351-2
12. Major GLYN

asked the Home Secretary whether the Government will find time to pass a Bill into law in the near future to enable the authorities in control of a recognised racecourse in Great Britain to establish and operate a totalisator machine?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer given by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to the hon. Member for Waterloo on the 16th November, to which I do not think I can usefully add anything.

Colonel DAY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is already a totalisator working in the West End of London?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The hon. Member's knowledge of the West End is greater and much more peculiar than mine.
