HC Deb 02 December 1926 vol 200 c1341
4. Captain FAIRFAX

asked the Home Secretary if he has considered, or will consider, the expediency of making it an offence to offer shares in any company by personal canvass; and if he can give any further information as to steps he has taken, or intends to take, to protect the public against being exploited by share pushers?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister)

I have been asked to reply. As I have already pointed out, this is one of the recommendations in the Report of the Company Law Amendment Committee, and it is proposed to include it in the Bill which I hope to introduce next year. I would also refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer given him by the Home Secretary on 24th June last, of which I am sending him a copy.
