HC Deb 02 December 1926 vol 200 c1362
23. Brigadier-General CLIFTON BROWN

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that there is considerable anxiety on the part of poor tenants that the present rent restrictions are to he removed next year; and whether he will issue a statement of the subject?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

As the present restrictions do not expire until the end of next year, I do not see any cause for anxiety. The question whether the restrictions should be continued for a further year will fall to be considered next year, in the light of the circumstances then existing.

Mr. MACQUISTEN

Will the housing difficulty not be overcome by that time?
