§ 24. Mr. HORE-BELISHAasked the First Lord of the Admiralty what special work has been undertaken, and with what cost, towards mitigating the mosquito pest which has impeded the work at Singapore?
Mr. DAVIDSONThe hon. Member is mistaken in supposing that the work has been impeded, since adequate steps were taken at the outset to prevent malaria by surface drainage and clearing. So far, about £12,000 has been spent on these operations.
