§ Viscount WOLMERApproximately 129,600 members of the manipulative grades are in receipt of basic pay of less than £3 a week, and 10,400 are in receipt of basic pay of £3a week or more. The former figure includes approximately 24,000 part-time officers. I might add that basic pay of £3 a week produces, with current bonus, remuneration of 97s. 3d. a week, or over £250 a year. Scale payment sub-postmasters have been excluded from these figures.
