46. Mr. RENNIE. SMITHasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that the members of the League of Nations have agreed that the manufacture by private enterprise of munitions and implements of war is open to grave objections, and that they have undertaken to interchange full and frank information as to the scale of their armaments, their military, naval, and air programmes and the condition of such of their industries as are adaptable to warlike purposes, he can see his way to publish a White Paper giving details of the manufacture of armaments in this country by Government and private firms?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Godfrey Locker-Lampson)I have been asked to reply. The Armaments Year Book published by the League of Nations contains full information on British military, naval and air armaments and on the British industries capable of being used for war purposes. In the circumstances, I do not think that there is any object in publishing a White Paper covering the same ground.
