HC Deb 02 August 1926 vol 198 c2635
M. Sir F. WISE (for Mr. SMEDLEY CROOKE)

asked the Minister of Pensions if he is aware that the Birmingham War Pensions Committee, at a recent meeting, complained of the attitude of the Ministry with regard to final awards; and will he consider the advisability of having cases reopened where it can be proved that injustice has been done to the ex-service men who are suffering by reason of their service?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY OF PENSIONS (Lieut. - Colonel Stanley)

My right hon. Friend has not yet received any representations from this Committee arising out of their recent meeting. I would remind the hon. Member that, as has been repeatedly stated in this House, administrative measures have long since been taken to deal with the wholly exceptional ease where a final award is proved to be erroneous.
