HC Deb 29 April 1926 vol 194 c2182
12. Sir WALTER de FRECE

asked the Home Secretary the number of accidents, fatal and otherwise, resulting from motor traffic since the beginning of the year?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The figures for Greater London up to 31st March were approximately as follow: Fatal accidents, 178; persons killed, 179. Non-fatal accidents, 6,178; persons injured, 6,613. The corresponding figures for the rest of the country are not available.

Colonel DAY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say how those figures compare with the previous year's?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I cannot carry the figures in my head, but if the hon. and gallant. Member will put down a question I will answer it.
