29. Mr. WOMERSLEY

asked the Minister of Agriculture if a decision has been arrived at as to whether the fishing industry is to receive assistance from the amount voted for the marketing of Empire and home produce and, if so, to what extent?

Mr. AMERY

I have been asked to reply, since I shall administer the Vote to which my hon. Friend alludes. I would refer him to the full statement regarding the Empire Marketing Grant which I made on the 31st March, and to the supplementary reply which I gave on the same day to the hon. and gallant Member for Central Hull, who raised a question as to fisheries.

Will the right hon. Gentleman send me a copy of this reply?

Mr. AMERY

Certainly.

Mr. WOMERSLEY

Will he see that the fishing industry is properly represented on this Committee?

Mr. AMERY

It is impossible for every industry inquired into to be represented on the Committee, but the point will be kept in mind.

All that the right hon. Gentleman's supplementary answers mean is that the matter can be considered. Cannot he make a further announcement on this question?

Mr. AMERY

I think my answers go a good deal further than the hon. and gallant Member suggests. I have said that the Imperial Economic Committee, in proper course, will deal with this question, and that this recommendation would also be dealt with
